There were motifs from parks, cafes, excursions, dance pavilions and more. In the Nordic region, a special circle of motifs was developed which dealt with winter activities. Among the most famous Norwegian painters who dealt with this motif are Frits Thaulow, Axel Ender and Nils Hansteen.
